    Default Backwoodsman magazine

This is a good magazine I thought you would enjoy. They are also asking for articles and will trade a 1 year subscription for each article. They have articles on black powder guns, shooting, hunting, making your own stuff, primitive ways, survival. So if you would like to write an article (needs at least 2 pictures) please do.

Everything I have posted is pure fantasy. I have not done any of the things that I have claimed to have done in my posts. I actually live in Detroit.

Was recently turned on to this mag myself and love it. The only problem is it is adding to my "Want to Try" list that is already too long.

    Default Very good magazine.

I have been getting Backwoodsman for 9 years now. I wrote a couple of articles and got a couple of years subscription paid for that way. Plenty of good info, but Woodswalker is correct it just adds to my want to try list. So far I have made a "mexican wok, multiple holsters for revolvers, cell phones and my Gerber Multipier and have made slingshots out of brass rods. But I haven't had time to do a third of the stuff I would like to.

It also turned me on to Handi Rifles, much to my wife's chagrin.

Backwoodsman Magazine gave me Hemmoroids! I always kept them next to the toilet for a little potty time entertainment, the problem was I'd never get off the can...I'd just sit and read and read! Great Magazine.

Is it worth it to get a lifetime subscription?

At $250.00 it would take about 10 years to achieve the current subscription rate of $23/year

How does the stuff inside compare to foxfire material?

I too, would have to say that Backwoodsman Magazine is my favorite. It is worth every penny.

I found it in Wally World's magazine rack last year and have been buying it everytime I see it. Always something to learn in each issue. I'm currently writing an article on my 4 months of voluntary homelessness. Charlie Richie is the Editor and will also trade subscriptions for old carbon steel knives in good shape. By old I mean at least 25 years and more like 50 or better.

The Foxfire series books (11 I think) explained projects in much more detail IMHO. But after the 7th book, I thought they went downhill. Again IMHO.
