Dog socialization tour

17 days, 4250 miles and 17 states. We took the river road along the Mississippi, cut east through the smokie mountains to the Atlantic ocean. Then, along the coast to Florida, west to New Orleans and north home. The boys met the family and dipped their toes into the waters. They're rock solid in behavior. Not scared of new things and friendly to others. I think it was probably the best thing we could have done for them at their age.

Sorry, but since I am not from the US...who are "them"? You mean the dogs? Is this a trip to get the bonds between you and dog better? I am from Malaysia..

Yes, bonding is secondary. However, it's bonding and fear mitigation training. To experience different things and if they show fear to teach them to overcome their fear with positive reinforcement.

Great! Now I understand..its both bonding and getting the dog acclimatized to the situation, surroundings and events...great!

Another new experience for the dogglers.... Snow. We should get between 12-16 inches before its over.

Ugh, my poor dog. She throws up every time she gets in the car, hence she doesn't get to go very often. I think I'll put her in and go half a blocks distance and return home. Do you think a lot of that would get her used to it?

One of mine would get frothy mouth on short rides in the car. Perhaps often rides would help, I don't know. The RV ride wasn't a problem for ours and I haven't had him in the car since we've been back to know if there has been a change.

Yes doing very short trips can help. Also there are herbs to use to help the dog relax a bit and that will help also. Just check out dogs naturally on the web.
