    Question Tac scope question

Are any of you guys "up" on TACTIAL scopes?

I have a old Tasco tac scope before they where tactical scopes. . It's a short 4x with a illuminated reticule and dot. It's a nice little scope that is actually good quality. (Damn expensive too) anyhow it's adjustments are not very repeatable and adjusting POA is a PIA as it's a coin turret.
I am looking at a Millett 1x4 DMS 30mm scope. It's about 250$ so same as I paid for that Tasco twenty five years ago.

I have never has a 30mm scope but was impressed with this scope. (A friend of a friend has one and I got to look and shoot thru it)

Just looking for comments and suggestions.

All I can tell you is that Optics Planet has the same scope for $200!

The reviews are very positive on this product no matter where you go, if you tend to believe reviews.

What you want in a scope will depend on a lot of factors, most important being personal preference and your vision for the use if the firearm and the conditions it will be used in. If you have been using the same Tasco for 25 years, and I assume other scopes on other guns also, you probably have your preferences pretty well developed.

I would consider that a good scope for any of my short range rifles (out to 300y) but I prefer higher magnification on my long range rifles. But that is just me and my preferences and other folks are fine with 4x at long range.

I have started adding scopes on to stuff that I didn't use to need to........just old eyes.

Can't really speak to Tactical scopes the only one that has one.... is a Mossberg Plinkster M&P .22 that was a raffle prize....and put a $30 buck no name 4x short AR type carry handle mount scope......shoots just fine when I have ammo to burn.....sight picture seems out of round to me...so I wouldn't suggest one.

I have used the Tasco variable scope for many years....and like them a lot.....but would be willing to try a different, so will be watching your review.

    Thanks guys!

Yea I know what I like. . Some years back I had opertunity to pick up a sales mans Kales scopes. By the time I was able to get there most if what I liked and what was cheapest was gone to other sales guys. I spotted a nice looking but 30mm scope. I ended up passing and buying a set on binos. Kinda which I had bought it. It was literally half of cost to the store. Few years back I have a Kales scope and love it. But still no 30mm.
Last year a friend bought a 30mm for one of his PCP air rifles. We shot that quite a bit and wow it's super nice.

I own a bunch mostly Leupold's my favorites are the 2x7x33 matte. I also have a Nikon M223 3X that's every bit as clear as my Kales or Zeiss scopes!!!

This one popped up on the radar so I thought I might try it.

I will post up once I have it!
