I just got some of the ultafire lights and have been very pleased with them. Small enough to fit in the palm of my hand yet throw out incredible light with a AA sized battery.

Thanks for the review. The best rechargeable batteries I've found are Radio Shack but they are pretty darn expensive. I'd like to know which rechargeable AA and AAA folks have had good luck with. It looks like that one is a proprietary battery?

I have been doing research on this very topic. I haven't done a lot of trial an error though, mostly just reading reviews on amazon. To start, the best AA and AAA that have a voltage around 1.2 are the Nickel Metal Hydride. There are also two main types of NiMH batteries on the market, one has a current density around 1500 mAh, and the other is above 2000 mAh for the AA size. From the reviews on amazon, the eneloop brand seems to be a huge favorite.
The type of charger for the NiMH also seems to be important. They need to be charged correctly.

As for the 3.7 V battery from the OP, that is common for Lithium Ion batteries. You can't get a rechargeable lithium battery less than 3V.
