It seems almost unbelievable, but another line of strong storms seem to be moving easterly towards central Oklahoma this morning. For those of us here who are under severe weather watches today, please make an effort to: keep especially tuned into the weather in your area; make sure you keep some basic survival supplies close at hand; and have some idea of where you would seek shelter as you go about your daily routines. Things changed in a matter of minutes yesterday and those conditions seem to be setting up similarly for today. God bless and heads up!

One of my nieces took this yesterday. That's how close they live. Another touched down 8 miles from one of my sister's house. Moore is only 70 miles from my hometown. Moore was hit in 1999 with a tornado that clocked the highest winds ever on Earth and it followed the same path as this one. We lived in Montana at the time but moved back home just a couple weeks after the 1999 tornado to be near my mother in law. One of our Aunts lived in Moore at the time. All my family are currently safe but I worry about my parents who live in their airplane hanger and the sister who lives in a freaking trailer house. Neither one have storm shelters. My heart is just breaking for those that lost little children yesterday.

My sincere condolences to the victims of the recent storms. Best of luck to those who are still in the areas which might unfortunately expereince more tornados.

I grew up in "Tornado Alley." I've seen first hand, towns literally blown off the map, but it never happened to me and my family. I lived for 36 years in "Earthquake Alley," Los Angeles, and survived through three major earthquakes.

If it comes down to a natural disaster, I'll take earthquakes. Unless your house burns after the "shake," you can dig through your shattered house and come up with enough of your goods to get through it. In a tornado, everything you have can literally disappear, blown miles away, including sometimes, yourself.

I hope no more people are injured if these new storms touch down.

I've been through several tornadoes over the years having lived where I did, but none as big as this one. I just about always had a storm shelter too. It seems like they are not as common as they once were.
