On Here's What I Did to Make Ferrous Sulphate or Vinigeroo .I used this to Dye the Veg-tanned Leather Black On the Sheath for the Another Bigin' Post

1st. Get some Steel Wool and Some Viniger and a Jar to Hold it in

Let it Sit in the Jar for a Few Weeks to a Few Months I Let My Batch Sit for 3 Months Untill I Used it for Tanning.
Vent the Mixture every few Days to expel any gasses that form in the Jar.
after a Few Months You Get this

Nope Other then the Leather Will Smell Like Viniger for a Few Days I Let the Sheath Sit on the Porch a Few Days to Air Out and Now Is Smell Like Leather again. If you want Ya May Try to Use a Baking soda Was On the Leather to Help remove the smell. The Longer you Let the Stuff Set up t(I Went 3 months and I Get a Deep Black /Silght Blue Dye.
