There are so many brands to choose from. IMO the most important aspect, if you’re going to be wearing them a lot is comfort. Here’s a few links, I’m sure there will be many recommendations of personal favorites from others. After you have the info that you need, IMO you should go to a store armed with that information and try them on. Then you’ll know exactly what you want. Sometimes you can find them cheaper on line, but sometimes not.

Amazon has a lot of choices.

Lot’s of styles on the Redwing site – search around.

There are many more options, but here’s a few to take a look at.

Other than swinging a chainsaw, I HATE Safety toe boots. They conduct the cold in freezing environment. Wallmart carries several lines of safety boots.

All I ever wore when I worked outside were Redwings. I've had both the Wellingtons and the Lineman. Only the Wellingtons were steel toed. And Hopeak is correct. The steel toe will conduct the cold in the winter but I wore a cheap pair of 4 buckle galoshes over the Wellingtons and stayed toasty warm even in below 0 F temps.

I wore all of them and Redwing are the best steel toe or otherwise. I am still on a pair I bought 15 or more years ago. When I ride an ATV I wear them and I actually feel more comfortable in those boots. I thought steel toe would be hot but I didn't have any problem. I can remember before we were required to wear steel toe I jerked a few manhole covers on my toe and I was too scared to take the boot off and look at the damage. I still wear the linesman type and highly recommend Redwing after well over 40yrs of wearing them.

I wear a pair of steel toe Carolina logger boots 14/7. That's right, they are the most comfortable boots ever.

I have had Redwing, Georgia, Timberland, and a host of others that all fell short. Other than the Carolina, Ariat is a great boot and for a steeltoe has fancy tassels that make them look like fancy shmancy western boots.

The Ariats are alot lighter than the Carolina's and alot more expensive.

I wear steeltoes for work and once you find a make and model that work for you, stay with them.

With steeltoe boots, get your feet measured at the store. There is nothing worse than getting the wrong size steeltoe because they will kill your feet.

Here is what I wear now:

Here is what I use to wear, went through two pairs:

I posted on one of the other threads about, if you had one thing to take in the woods, what would it be? my response, I would walk in the woods buck arse nekked, with only my Carolina boots.

i'd steer away from the wal mart brands if youre gonna do some serious walking
the brahma brand are not very comfortable and will not survive being wet for long. the herman survivors are a little better, i wear the hiking style in non steel toe for every day use.
still if you dont oil or wax them the water kills them.

at work i wear wolverines which are'nt to bad of course i kill two pair of boots a year because the lime is so caustic it rots the seams out the more expensive brands dont fair much better.

when i was in the military i had some redwing linesman boots i wore in the field cause of the mud we had to walk around in. heavy but well worth it.
