    Default Tropical Gardening

I have searched the forum and found one or two threads, but I am wondering if anyone has knowledge or experience with tropical gardening.

For example, what types of veggies to plant, when is best to plant what, what NOT to plant, etc.

I have seen that yucca, yams, and those hardy root type plants are good, but what else?

Google has led me to some sites, but if you have any personal favorite links, please share as well!

Yes, I will probably see if Mac or his wife have any suggestions, too, since they live here. I just wanted to ask the rest of the folks here.

    Thanks!

Seams like asparagus would do well...I have no experience though...
Keep in mind the problem may be extremely complicated, though the "Fix" is often simple...

Maybe Crash or YCC could help? They both garden in hot/steamy areas of the U.S.

Smhg - Bananas - lots of em. It gets a little too chilly here in winter for any true and sustained tropical planting. I've lived in Hawaii and Guam - pineapple, sugar cane, papya, mango, various tubers, coconuts.......

Thanks Crash. We have papaya in our backyard and my MIL has Banana, Mango and a variety of other fruit trees (lime, tangerine, and other fruits I'd never heard of before.)

    Any thoughts about veggies?

I didn't do any gardening when I lived in those places, but here's some info that may be useful.
