We Have TONS of these bark scorpions here, we find one in the house every couple days, usually dead because they spray regularly,

These (Below) are all over the place outside , They are this color and also greenish and these get big , up to 5 or 6 inches, But its those little ones above that are most poisonous ,

a fair policy for spiders, that applies well to scoprions too is this:

if it has been sitting in one place for two weeks or more, and looks like the kind of place a black widow would hide [provides shade; assume there is one there.

look at it this way; it's prevented every every spider bite i didn't get

I always check my boots before putting them on and often wondered if they are hanging on in there.
Now for the rattlers, I wish I could still hear them.

For those of you living in the Southeastern US this is the Snakebite expert I would advise. I recalled his name from the days of when I worked in the Okefenokee Swamp Park Serpentarium. IIRC his advice (That we gave out then) was "Don't cut, Don't suck, treat for shock and get the victim to a hospital as soon as possible." Something most people don't realize, when you brush your teeth, Your brush scratches your gums. If you suck venom out all you have done is transfer venom from one place to another!!

Okefenokee Joe was at the event yesterday talking about snakes. Good stuff. He tours schools all over the south educating kids about snakes.
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. Helen Keller

We had one in an office I worked in. It was fed mice (one every three or four weeks). It would act disinterested, but eventually corner the mouse. It did it so slowly that I guess the prey did not feel threatened. It would sink it's fangs into the mouse and then inject digestive juices. Not sure if all species of Tarantulas are the same, but this species could only eat liquids. It would then suck the insides. When it was done (several hours later) all that was left was the skin and fur. No internals at all, including bones.
