Default ok wolves, i need your help

so i ahve looked everywhere i can think of, so i turn to the wolfpack to help solve this dilema.
I would like to find a hand saw for cutting wood, kind of like dick prenoke had when you saw him sawing tree trunks, i would imagine it it be 3 ft long or so.
I try to do things primitive, and i get strange looks for it, but currently i chop donw the tree with an axe and then buck it into 8 ft sections and carry it back, sometimes about a half mile, but i am using a bow saw to cut it into wood stove lenghts and i do not like the saw.
SO i was wondering if any of you would know what i am looking for and where to find it.
    thanks for your help

I think you are looking for a "One Man Crosscut Saw". They come with or without the second handle like in Crash's pic. Here's a place you can start with but you can google One Man Crosscut Saw and should find lots of options. If that's what you want.

It is. I haven't repaired the handle yet, but tried it out when I got it. It sawed through oak without any problems. I originally got it to use for knife making material, but have grown kind of attached to it. I'll probably pick up one or two more.

    Thanks.

The guy at the flea market had quite a few with no handles at all and quite a few that were in pretty good shape. This one is 40" overall length. He had some that were quite a bit bigger.

I have a smaller, 3 footer. It's curved for limbing. It does a great job. Goes through wood like hot butter.

I've got a few of those - different variations. They came with the house!

Here is a link to new saws. My large saws are flea market rescues and a lot of time with a wire brush and a file.

I have an old jack's saw in the attic. the two man kind that is about 6' long. still nice and sharp, and it came with the house too. My great-grandad was a carpenter and that was a long time before they had power tools, so I sort of inherited a bunch of his saws and chisels, etc. like the one in crash's pic. I have a curved one around here somewhere like Rick suggests, and that's what I would recommend for firewood, unless you have some help, then I definately recommend the two-man crosscutter. My grandma said he could cut a tree into planks with it, then use his drawknife to smooth them into nice boards. He was quite a handy fella with old tools. Too bad I didn't get to know him very long.

The saws at the flea markets here all have pretty country kitchen scenes painted on them <yak...hurl>

I have one of those saws. It has a top handle too.
Grandpa said it was his ice saw.
Needs a new handle. Thanks for the link!
