no, all native reptiles are protected (people in tradtional areas are pretty well tolerated to hunt up a free feed once in a while though). Toss over hot coals and hoe in! Nice big healthy fella,a Bearded Dragon... would be 75cm nose to tail (which is mostly around the other side of the tree). The spikes are not as spiky as they look. They eat bugs, king crickets, snails, little frogs etc. Large mature ones are a good sign you have a decent ecosystem around you.
