My first Damascus knife project!

I bout this damascus blank from a guy on the web. Had it sent from India. Im working on getting the materials ready for the handle. Gotta find two different woods that I like. Here is the Idea I have for the handle.Im thinking about using the one that is standing upright.

Yeah that would be cool. Im needing a dark wood and a light wood.I will bring it to work in the morning and show you what ive done on it so far. Its turning out really sweet.

well this is a s far as ive gottin on this knife. almost have all my matierials for the handle still need a few pieces of wood. looking for some black walnut and some white oak. I cut the groves the polished the top edge and everywhere the handle will be. man I love the dremel tool.

Is that steel hardened? If so, you may need carbide bits to drill holes for pinning it.

yeah I think it is but not sure. hopefully I can drill through it I have a lot of pins to put in it lol. How can I tell to be sure without ruining it?

The area you are going to drill will be covered by the scales. Just go slow and don't try and force it. You just may need a carbide or carbide tipped bit designed to drill trough hardened steel for the task.
