MRE Review - Lithuanian Menu 10 - Beef Stew

Hope this is in the right subforum! I like to review MREs and other camping/instant meals that can be eaten on the go, camping or in a survival situation.

This MRE had an excellent flameless ration heater, but also comes with a field stove with fuel tabs. Most of these come with a side of nuts, usually hazelnuts or almonds. The hazelnuts with this tasted good, but they serve them roasted but not salted or spiced in any way.

The other sides include classic hard tack or "rusks" with a packet of honey. This was topped off with two dark chocolate bars. Drinks came in the form of Orange Tang style powdered drink mix and instant coffee. Sugar was provided, but no creamer.

All in all, a great meal and filling. The main was piping hot, more meaty than a stew, but very savory. Bits of carrots and potatoes included. I thought it could have been saltier. A little hot sauce would have helped too.

The stew has a hearty consistency, with vegetables often pureed, Drive Mad providing a thick base.

That sounds like a solid MRE! The combination of a flameless ration heater and a field stove is a nice touch—having that backup heating option can be a game-changer in different conditions.

The hazelnuts being plain is interesting. Some rations season them (or at least salt them), but I guess that keeps them more shelf-stable. Did the honey pair well with the hardtack? Sometimes that can really elevate otherwise bland crackers.

The main sounds hearty—was it more of a thick stew or closer to a solid meat dish with gravy? Also, was the chocolate the usual military-style dark chocolate (slightly waxy and meant for durability), or was it more of a standard dark chocolate bar?

Would love to hear what MRE this was—French, German, or something else?

Thanks for the video! It's really cool to see the different strategies people use for these block puzzles. It reminds me of this time I was totally stuck on one, and my little cousin casually picked up my phone and solved it immediately. I was so embarrassed! He's obsessed with Eggy car and I swear that spatial reasoning translates to these games somehow. Maybe try that for practice? Seriously, great content though!
