I am a great grandma and while I am not going to be doing actual "wilderness" survival, I AM going to be moving to a 120+ acre farm with my daughter, SIL, and two grandchildren to live with my SIL's parents. If that's not survival, I don't know what is!! lol No, just joking, I get along very well with my SIL and his parents..........now. Ask me again in a year.......or maybe even 6 months.
The whole idea of this was get back to basics, home school the kids, grow our own food, and put it up. We talked through each method of preserving food and decided dehydrating was the most economical, space saving, and if we lose power in the winter thru storms or ice pulling the lines down or God forbid, something happens like an EMP and we ALL lose power, dehydrated food won't thaw and spoil. Wonder how difficult it would be to dehydrate milk?

Dehydrated water is a bit more difficult (queue up the obligatory can of dehydrated water).
