    Default Rambo

I did a search and didn't find anything, and I figure this deserves a thread.

Anyways, I recently watched the Rambo movies, and I'm wondering what you guys / gals think of them. Realistic or too dramatic?

Personally I like the fact that he can live with just his knife if need be, and take on a full police force in the first one. If all homeless guys were like that, we would have one heck of a problem.

I'm sure most of us have seen it, so tell us what you think about it.

It's a movie. In other words, "It's not real"

However. Someone who is well trained in small unit tactics can cause a whole lot of trouble. Especially when he's armed with an M-60 machine gun, in a po-dunk in the middle of the night.

As far as "living with just his knife". He didn't. He used everything he could get his hands on. His knife was just a tool that helped.

Now let me refer back to my first comment. It's a movie and not real. These movies were a pain in the a*s for folks like me who were combat instructors. I can't remember how many times I had to grab some troop and remind him he was not Rambo and if he tried that crap in a real fire fight he would most likely get himself as well as his fire team killed.

Of course my comment are not meant to insult anyone who may idolize Rambo.
    1. If it's in your kit and you don't know how to use it....It's useless.
    2. If you can't reach your kit when you need it....Its useless.

All I can say is if was that bad how come he came home with any of them still alive? I was a movie and not a very realistic one. And he had better then a knife he had a whole staff of writers.

The popcorn and Milk Duds they sold during the movie were good, too.

Wow, Thanks. I almost got a headache trying to figure that one out. Then I found myself reading another thread.

Honestly, when Rambo came out I was about 12 years old, and I thought it rocked. I wanted to be Rambo and I got the knife, and played Rambo in the woods behind my house. Is it realistic. No...is it good entertainment- I always like it.

Death Hunt with Charles Bronson, was pretty similar, and I liked it even better.

When talking time I was addressing Ken, cause he's in Massachusetts which is the same timezone as Connecticut. But yeah, it's a different time everywhere in the world.
