Suppose ''wilderness survival'' depends on how you define that !!!!!!!!!
I was born up in QUEBEC,back in the 40s. No electricity, out house was REALLY OUT there..... used a shovel to get there when winter was REALLY WINTER.
outside pump for water... hit a spring,so ice cold water in summer as well as winter....
fresh fish was a staple..... snowshoe hare and ruff grouse were common table fare....
back then,10 -12 year olds were expected to ''go get'' something with the .22 and a 1/2 dozen shells.
things HAVE changed........ but life is what you make it.....
