Weather Prediction

I'm sure most of you who have spent time outdoors have come to be able to predict the weather, to a certain degree anyway. What are some of the things you observe as a clue to what is in store.

For example, "red sky at night, sailors delight" means the weather will be good.

Midwest is highly unpredictable, but generally if it is extremely humid in early spring I'll say its gonna storm. I did that to my wife last week and she looked at me like I was crazy since there was no cloud in the sky. 3 hours later a good one come pounding through. I just smiled when she asked me how I knew.

Can't really tell by the sun, although sometimes the clouds will give you a clue. Moisture content in the air, sudden temperature changes and the prevailing winds are what I use to divine the weather.

When I lived in the Seattle area.....If you can't see Mt. Rainier - it's raining. If you can see it - it's getting ready to rain.

I have a built in barometer. When my wrists get to feel a certain way I know rain will be here within a day. If they hurt slightly it will rain in the next few hours and if they throb it is about to rain or it is already raining.

I also have a weather dog. If it is going to rain he wants to stay in bed a little longer and cuddle. If it is raining, he is wet. He dose not like the rain comming but once it is raining he wants to be out in it. If it is snowing he is wet and cold. If it is windy he wants me to go out with him. If it is sunny and warm he does not want to come in.

Birds all lined up, not flying cause of atmospheric pressure. Leaves turning up on most trees to catch rain water. My back & hip stiff and left knee creaks. Sinus pressure over left eye. I beat a barometer any day.

2 hours is a federal law in the U.S., wareagle. We've even been known to seed clouds if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate. You know us, we have to make everything better.
