can't speak for other areas but in my area there are many bulk fuel tanks. There are probably lots of regs but the only ones I know of are, gasoline bulk tanks are painted red and diesel tanks are painted green. The dock jobs I've been involved in the bulk tanks are kept in a catchment in case of a leak or spill.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

Yes and when I check them out here - they don't exist. I am too close to Philadelphia. I would have to travel some 60 miles to get to one... Guess I need to put a reminder in my GPS.

There is common sense and then there are also the well documented regulations than anyone who has worked with flammable liquids knows:

    https://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owa...able=STANDARDS

If you ever worked on a large agricultural operation in Texas you will be familiar with the over 1,100 gallon regulations also listed by Federal OSHA but here it is by itself, also common sense if you understand the basic science, covered in basic ag classes at A&M:

    https://www.tceq.texas.gov/permittin...Regulated.html

Edit: Paint color is part of the regulations but the science is a little more sophisticated than that!

I don't think there is any argument about large storage bulk tanks, and most everyone I know that uses bulk storage...are pretty well versed in rules and regulations.

As I noted, my advice was from a guy the owns a bulk plant ,(and several gas stations)...and the fact there are idiots in Wisconsin as well as Texas.
I thinking the problem may be the guy the has 25- 5 gal can/jugs stashed in his garage or basement in town....or try to hide a bulk tank where it doesn't belong.

The point was simplely.... that bulk storage is used and is safe as long as rules are followed, and common sense is used.

I may have 10-12 gas /diesel cans.... but are kept empty most of the time.....as the gas does not seem to last.
Don't like Stable, would rather use Sea Foam....but even that isn't ideal.
Gas is only used in the 4 wheelers, mowers, weed wackers, and chain saws....so not as much need to store a lot.

Diesel seems to be easier to store, (trucks and tractor), but does collect moisture....that needs to be drained from the fuel filter.

Being as how in the northern climates, diesel is formulated for warm weather and cold weather, as well as gas.

there you go again with the common sense Hunter. Too bad some folks can't see the forest for the trees.

I simply have not seen the bulk tank police showing up on the many logging and farming sites I've been involved in. I've not even seen it on the lp gas bulk tanks. I guess that is one benefit to living in the sticks. If I wanted a bulk gas tank, I would set it up and have gas delivered, no more involved than that.

Well, Kyrat , you may be on to something.......
Just got back form my favorite gas station....and didn't see the "no alcohol added" selection on the pump...
Owner was out there reading the pump numbers, so I asked him.
Said that the Premium 91 Octane is "no alcohol" at his station now....so he was able to free up a tank.

Picked up a new chain saw and noticed that the manual is asking for you to try to use "no alcohol" ...or so the printed, "For Best Results"......LOL.... Yeah, sure, you betcha.

So it's Premium from now on.......
