Thread: Big Dan from Kansas city

Default Big Dan from Kansas city

I am constantly trying to learn more everyday about wilderness survival and sustainability and am really interested in intentional longterm survival. I am especially interested in primitives/abo techniques. I have been studying bushcrafting for around 4 years and the next subjects on my plate are flintknapping, bowmaking, and primitive leatherworking.

Welcome to the site Big Dan. We've been hanging on here for days waiting for someone to ship us some Arthur Bryants. Any idea where we can get us some?

FVR is a great source for flint knapping. Look for some of his posts or do a search on flint knapping you should fine more than a few.

Canid is a great resource on bowmaking. He has a LOT of posts on that subject. He's starting his own bow making business so he knows his stuff (and a couple of other things, too).

When you say leatherworking, do you mean the art of tanning and curing hides, or the art of insribing upon wrought leather designs, figures, and possibly writing?
