Default Survival calamari to last a lifetime

Many forum members hunt, trap and fish. Have you ever caught squid? This one could last for quite awhile.

I saw that earlier in the week. It has the largest eye of any animal ever. Sort of gives you new respect for squidward doesn't it?

    Cool Recipe

Cut squid/octypus in large chunks - reserve. Place carrots, 1 inch potato cubes, onion, and celery (you choose the amounts) in a crockpot with 1 part red wine, 1 part water, salt, pepper, parsley, and garlic to taste. Set crockpot to lowest heat setting. When veggies are almost done, add squid/octypus. Cook until squid/octypus is tender, but do not overcook or it will become like rubber and shrink to nothing. Sorry, I don't measure anything when I cook.

    Are they edible?
    By that I mean palatable.
I have never read anything about how they rate on the good eats scale.

calamari in general or humbolt squid in particular? Calamari is the Italian name for squid, by the way.
