so which knike will you bugout with?

everyone here has knives some more than others knives to do all sorts of jobs
my question is in a emergency situation or bugout which one or ones whould
you take with you and why? my self i do not suffer from the burden of having
umpteen zillion knives,LOL i have a few(oh poor baby) but really which ones woud you take?

My regular Bushcraft kit. An Opinel for food prep and small chores that won't kill it's edge so fast. A custom belt knife for camp stuff. A huge custom Kukri (THANKS again u-know-who!).

Well likely it will be the one in my pocket, Benchmade folder (5000) because it is what I will have in an emergency, plus a CRKT Drifter and the little Leatherman Micra I carry in my pockets.. I don't really plan on leaving the place for almost any reason so I don't usually think in terms of "bugging out". I keep several different knives in my pickup truck and I also have a pack in my truck if I need it. A "Just In Case" bag mostly. It has two or three different little folders, and a Coldsteel Master Hunter Carbon V in it and a Leatherman Wave too.

Now if you are asking what I carry into the woods, it all depends on what kind of camping I am doing. It is an 1830's "period" type camp out I usually carry a butcher knife in a sheath on my belt and a single blade folder in my haversack. If it is an 1860's American Civil War reenactment I carry a single blade folder in my haversack if I am doing Union. If I am doing my "Terry's Texas Rangers", 8th Texas cav impression I will have a blacksmith made D Guard Bowie (16" blade) on my saddle, a custom made "Toothpick" on my belt and a single blade folder in my saddlebags. if I am going to be pretending to be an 1870's Buffalo Hunter (Living History program) I will have a Sheffield England made "Bowie" knife (6" carbon steel blade, stag handles) on my belt and a two bladed Barlow in my pocket, plus in the wagon I will 4 or 5 Green River skinning knives and a few butchers also. If I am going with the local Boy Scout Troop, backpacking, I will have my Benchmade folder, and the CRKT Drifter, and that little Leatherman Micra in my pockets. If I am canoeing then it will be the Benchmade folder, the CRKT Drifter, and my Micra and the bag out of the pickup truck.

I'm already bugged out - staying home, digging in, fighting it out to the end ! Too many knives to list but my favorite is my Esee Laserstrike.

i lke to have 2 of each cause i have 2 vehicles. 2,folding paramedic knives, 2, coldsteel kukris
2,schrade fixed blade mod 37&39 survival knives, and 2,bear grylls ultimate survival knives.
each having it's own job to do.

How do you like the Schrades ? I like the looks of the blade shapes but not too crazy about the handle shapes and the big choils.

I guess that would depend what I was doing?... why am I bugging out?...where am I going?....what time I have to grab stuff.

Most likely would be SAK, pants pocket .......Jackets all have a folder or SAK.
Go bag/travel bag..... SAK and Buck Paclite Skinner
Big BOB bag..... SAK, Crashblade/Mora w/ferro rod/Wyoming saw kit, K-Bar Hobo knife spoon fork
Hunting bag..... Crashblade/Mora/Buck folder/hatchet
Belt day bag..... SAK/buck folder

Vehicles.....PSK's with Mora/Buck/Leatherman/Machete/Kukri/hatchet/ax/bow saw/24v chainsaw......

As you can see, there is a reoccurring theme, .....SAK, Mora, and Buck knives.....

So because I don't have a Genuine Honest to God Tactical, Zombie mashing, Log baton-ing and all around Orange survival knife, w/PSK and road flares in the handle.....I guess I'm Out of Luck.

Depends.....

If I have to leave RIGHT NOW and don't have time to grab a thing.....I have on my belt, a small crashblade, in my pocket a SAK and in my fanny pack a small folder BUT......in the the truck that I jump into I have.....three axes of various sizes, two saws, four machetes, five Moras and a few others sprinkled around.

If I had time before I left I would grab a few more - maybe even four or five katanas in case the word didn't get out about the zombie apocalypse.

Was at a yard sale...there was a "Cold Steel Katana"......a young kid was selling it...but had the look on his face that "Mom is making me sell this....But you really don't want to buy it do you?"

One of the rules I try to follow "Never bring a knife to a gun fight" I understand that I need lots and lots of 00 buck for Zombies but I am doing my best to up my inventory as I can. If it comes down to me using a knife I fear it will be a very short episode that will not end well.

You have two choices for zombies. Something in a caliber that would drop an elephant or a cricket bat. Your choice. As for knives, I would imagine I'll have whatever is with me.
