Sawyer works great. Used it it many areas with no problem. Sorry your water isn't a Fiji or Smart Water.

Hayshaker, I LOVE my Sawyers, all four of them. I have used water out of the Mississippi, The Upper Missouri, The Plate, The North Plate, The Pecos, The Red, The Wa****a and lots and lots of streams, ponds, tanks, seeps and just plain holes in between. A little Tang or hot chocolate and you can not even tell what color it was before you poured it in your cup! Strain the big stuff, strain it again with a coffee filter, run it though my Sawyer and I have never been sick. Sometimes if it is really really thick and gooey I have used iodine and the filter (filter first of course) Never been sick or had any in my camp get sick from bad water.

I will buy it from you if you want to sell it.

Probably not even worth the shipping. Have you seen how cheap Wal Mart is selling them for now? I thought I got a good deal getting 4 of them for $28 on Amazon. Now they are not much more than that.

There was one time I felt a little uneasy in the GI area after backpacking. Used it on a river outlet flowing into the ocean. Water looked almost gray. But, another person in my party felt the same and he was using a different filter so maybe it was just a stomach bug or something else.
