Odd stuff you carry in your bag.

I don't consider it odd, but I have a pocket sized Old Testament in my pack.

No TP; just some flushable wipes and a plastic hand trowel.
When I forget the trowel, I just use an old stump hole and kick in some debris afterward. So beware fatwood hunters in Delaware!

I don't think it's odd but...I've always carried fat wood in my pack. When I was in the service some of the other guys would ask me about it. They saw first hand how I could build a fire in the worst conditions (when we were in an area where a fire was safe, know what I mean?) and was appreciative of a way to warm food and water without those noxious trioxane bars.

My weirdest item would be a tampon... Now before you judge me, let me tell you why.

1. first aid bandage
2. water filter
3. candle wick
4. fire starter
5. and there are a few more survival uses

Look it up on Youtube "Survival Tampon" and you can see why even for a man.....Carrying a tampon could be a very wise idea.

I carry a sling made from 550 paracord and a leather patch. Too old and lazy to just throw rocks. Great fun tho...

I also carry a small bible with me. Also something I like to carry is a bird watching book that I like to thumb through while watching different birds around the camp.

I always like to carry around a blank dog tag with a short chain around it 3-4 inches? I figure, I can use it to reflect the sunlight for messages or as a SOS signal. Also could be sharpened into a makeshift cutting tool, very cheap and slim in the pocket.

That's the most odd thing I suppose I carry everyday. Some might think it's rather silly, I think it's practical.
