I'm not much of a story teller but here is my submission.

Many years ago I was living at a old homeplace in western Kentucky. At that time I was staying in a old boarded up corn crib. This corn crib didn't have a door. I had made up a pallet on the floor to sleep on. In the middle of one night I woke up straight out of a dead sleep with the hair raised up on the back of my neck, I raised up and looked out the door opening. I saw two people dancing in the moonlight. They were wearing older type clothing. I laid back down and covered my head until morning LOL. It was years before I ever told this story, it was eerie.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

Villa Louis Mansion in Prairie du Chen, Wi......site of our favorite Rendezvous.

Lower floor is a room that was occupied by a servant, back when....had been an orphan, rasied by the family and died there as an old man....
Door as a piece of Plexie glass so you can't walk in......but you can lean in and look around.......The guy is still in there.
You can feel his "presence"......I felt it,.....then backed up and told my friend to lean in and look at the rifle hanging up.

He leaned in and was startled by the same "presence"....back up and turned to me and said real low...."He's still in there, ain't he?"

    Yup, he is.......

Right after my biological parents separated (I don't think they were divorced yet) my father and I moved in with my uncle at his house along with my cousin. One morning I was told to get dressed and my dad laid out my clothes. I had just put on my pants and my belt had fallen on the floor while getting everything else on. When I bent down to pick up the belt, it "lept" about 3 feet away from me as if a frog were attached to the buckle end. I looked at my cousin and she looked at me with a puzzled look wondering if I was somehow messing around. We turned and looked at the belt for what seemed like forever but was probably just a few seconds then the belt did it a second time. At that, we ran out of the room without saying word and went right up to our fathers. We told them what happened and they thought we were just imagining things. We were about 5-6 years old at the time, after all and you know how kids are. I think my dad did figure something must have happened later on because I wouldn't touch that belt at all that morning. Still remember that belt jumping very vividly.

Several years later in Jr. High, that Uncle passed away due to cancer. He was a very avid chess player. Played non-stop and it was his passion but I never touched the game. Just really didn't appeal to me and seemed too complicated. A few months after his death, I had a dream that me and him were playing chess. The next morning I knew how to play chess. That kinda freaked me out. I began to enjoy the game after that and I even joined in an intermural chess league my sophomore year of high school. I still play a game on occasion, but I have never played a game without thinking of my uncle or that dream.

My husband and I were together many, many years before having children. We spent those years running around all over the country. He was in construction so could work anywhere. One time we were making a quick trip between Duncan, Oklahoma and Taos, New Mexico. Taos was our favorite place and we would often make a quick trip over there for a long weekend. I think on this particular trip we also went up to Laughlin and Bullhead City, Nevada. We were on our way back home. It was in the middle of the night and we were both kind of tired. I was trying to stay awake to help entertain my husband as I knew he was tired to. But I had dozed off. I was awoken by him slamming on his breaks and yelling "WHAT IS THAT!!!!???" I woke up just in time to see that something had just crossed the road in front of us and was climbing up the embankment next to the road. This was an old, two lane state highway through New Mexico that we always took. I'm convinced it was some sort of big foot because honestly there is no other explanation. It was hairy and climbing up the hill like a person would. It was big. It wasn't a bear a bison or wolf. It immediately made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and reach over and lock my door (no telling why, just my immediate reaction.) Anyways, I don't often tell people this because I am not a flaky girl who just wants to believe in weird stuff. But to this day, I don't know what that was that crossed the road in front of us. My husband didn't either. It was gone in just a second or two.

Tok, I agree. I have had a few "unexplainable" things in my life. Can I prove them? Nope. Did I see any actual presences? Nope. Can I say with certainty of what caused my experiences? Nope. I sure can't. I don't really believe in ghosts, per se. I believe in God and that there are angels and demons around us. I tend to believe that when people see or experience so called ghosts that they are actually angels and demons. I also believe that we can see and experience angels and demons and not realize it. Just my personal beliefs.

For the thread, here is another moment I had. I worked security for a good handful of years for a local healthcare network. During that time, I worked all different locations including the corporate headquarters which was a former hospital that had been converted. One evening, during the winter, I think it was around 8:00pm I was doing some interior building checks. The way the floors were designed in the main section of the building, they were a "V" shape and the main entrance to each floor is at the bottom of the "V". I entered the fifth floor and heard a few ladies down the right hallway talking along with some soft crying. I couldn't make out what was being said, but could make out that they were female voices. I figured a few ladies had stayed late at work and were talking and/or dealing with something. So as not to startle them, I let the main door close kind of loud in addition to the door chime and I started to check the left hallway first making sure I made enough noise. Things like jangling my keys, checking doors and over exaggerating my steps as I try not to sneak up on people unless I have good reason too. Once I was done with the left hallway, I walked back and proceeded down the right hallway from where I heard the ladies and along the way gently calling out "hello". I got to the end of the hallway and no one was there. I knew no one had left through the main door cause I would have heard and seen that. The only other exit was a stairwell at the end of the hall which sends a silent alarm to our dispatcher. I called him and asked if he received an alarm on that door. He did not and I even later reviewed the alarm history which confirmed it.

A few days later, I asked one of the other security officers than had been there for over 30 years what the history of that floor was. He said prior to the hospital closing down, it was a breast cancer treatment floor. That caught my attention, thinking of the female voices and the female crying. He asked what was up and I told him about the situation. He kind of nodded his head for a few seconds. After that, him and others started telling me of their experiences throughout the old hospital and of the buildings surrounding it. Evidently, the unspoken rule is don't talk about it to the newer guys until they have an experience so as not to scare them away. Needless to say, that was not my last experience there. There is some freaky stuff about that building. They did tear down a few sections of the building and my old co-workers say things have decreased after that.

That's strange. While I cant say I've ever really had one, the closest I've ever come was at the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, MA. For those that may not know, in this house, an insane woman drowned two of her children, then herself. Some time later, two of the bloodiest murders in American history occurred downstairs. A woman by the name of Lizzie Borden supposedly killed her father an stepmother with an axe. Each had over 20 hacks to the back, face, and chest. While Lizzie was never found guilty, it is the most logical conclusion that she did it. For more info, google "Lizzie Borden".

Anyway, the house is open for tours. While on vacation up there, we took the tour. I know that it was kind of dark, but my cousin and I took a picture in front of the sofa that Mr. Borden was murdered on. If you look at crime scene photos (not for the faint of heart, even though they're in black and white), you can see Mr. Borden's head and arms dangling over the side of the sofa. Well, in the picture, long, string, white lines block out our faces because they hang down off the side of the couch! I feel like it was Mr. Borden, but I don't know for sure. What do you think?

One instance made the hair stand up on the back of my neck......

Little over a year ago early December......was at my cabin, alone, shutting down for the winter after deer season.

All packed up, was gonna eave in the morning.

At midnight I was out of my porch having a last smoke, and finishing my beer.....cold and calm......An Owl gave just one long loud "Hooooooo"

Really loud, sounded just in the trees behind the cabin...Hair stood up on my neck.......
We have a lot of Great Horned and Barred owls around....but this sounded different....No.... Ho Hooo, Or "who, who, who cooks for you"

Went in, went up stairs and went to bed....about that time ...There was another "Hooooo"

Now I was supposed to go in for a angioplasty but had been putting it off....too busy.....But this made me think of that and kinda shook me a bit.....
Got home the next day...called and made an appointment.

Week or two later, went in for the check up and ended up with a triple bypass ...........

I have to believe that was a warning.......still gives me shivers thinking about it.

All my life I have followed "my gut" in many , many ways and times........If it don't feel right, It isn't ....and you will know.

BTW last smoke was Dec 11, 2013.....

Thanks, I'm glad you posted that. That picture, however, is still lost. Nothing paranormal, I just don't where it is. If I find it, I'll post it.

    Forgot about this.

Oh yea, speaking of earthquakes... After the earthquake was over, my Case Manager and I went upstairs to check the cameras to see if any of the movement was caught on camera. One of the cameras shows our foyer and just barely, the door to the boiler room. We had the boiler room door open because it has been getting too hot in there and setting off alarms and we are waiting for it to be fixed. Anyways, on the camera, in the boiler room, you could see something moving around in there. It wasn't something solid. It was pretty dang spooky. Every one knows my building is haunted but I've never seen anything in there before. We went back downstairs and checked and we couldn't see anything such as lights or shadows that would have caused such movement but there was nothing. Que theme from Twilight Zone.

Oh yea, this is a secured building. No one can get in with out the code. And we would have seen anyone coming in the door on the cameras.

Hmm... That one is scary. Is there any chance that it could be a doll somebody left or something? It looks a little bit like a Raggedy Anne doll. Thanks for posting it.
