You call that cross country? That should be an overlander cruiser....is that a GS 750 from the late 70's?

Yessss....the great 'ol 1976 -1983 Yamaha Enduro DT 125/175 F model, a two stroke single cylinder bike, with mikuni carbs. One of the first series production dirt bike with the imfamous rear monoshock suspension system. I had one in 1981..a 125H model.
    Great bike..still luv them today.
This model is with the round tube swingarm, the later model came out with the rectangular tube swingarm...a very good bike, which was designed based on the 70's MX series.

Crash - were you using an "inflatable" seat cushion in your bike load-out picture?

GS1000 and I camped the entire trip except for a few nights at a Motel 6 (they really were $6) to take a hot shower. This trip was early 80's, covered 6,500 miles and lasted about four weeks.

Stock seat, panniers, tank bag and a couple of duffle bags strapped on.

Here is my CROSS Country. Rode from Penang to Hanoi in August 2011...a distance of 3,200 miles round trip. The bike is KLX 250 H 2007 model, 249 cc, 4 stroke single cylinder. The saddle bag is a GiantLoop Coyote. It was fun..Took me about 5 weeks for the round trip staying a couple of days at various places and camping in laos, Cambodian and Vietnamese villages.

My old overlander bike which I sold in 2012, a 2008 Kawasaki Versys 650, regretted selling this bike, the present Ducati Multistrada 1200 cc is no match for it when it comes to touring....rode all the ay to China..in 2009.

Here's a junky scooter I was offered. The seller claims it's a moped. Scooters are no more of a moped than a motorcycle.011.jpg

Nothing wrong with a moped, except that it would suck in the winter. I've even considered a scooter just to drive to work. My 3/4 ton Silverado gets 17mph on the highway and I hate to contemplate what I'm getting in town. A scooter gets 100 mpg. I could drive to work for a month on a couple gallons, tops.

Did the Yamaha Enduro all year long. and in the snow was riding with both feet as out riggers......fun.

Cut a pair of chaps out of Visqueen under the jeans to break the wind.....

Drive Ford 4 wheel drives trucks now.....don't like riding in the cold or rain any more..... or small cars....So I put up with the mileage I get.
