Thread: "Reality" show of man being eaten by anaconda

Default "Reality" show of man being eaten by anaconda

Television must be desperate for extreme nature survival shows. According to the internet Slate magazine (Nov. 1, 2014), the Discovery Channel plans to broadcast a segment showing a man being swallowed by an anaconda. Apparently, the man was in a protective suit and covered with pig blood to make him palatable to the snake. The article by Laura Bradley is "Dear Discovery Channel: A Man Getting Eaten by an Anaconda Isn't Educational". Green anaconda, green anaconda............. See www.slate.com

I think the man was extracted without killing the snake. Supposedly, the show will be broadcast on Dec. 7, 2014. Please search for the original article to get more details. It is not a show I want to watch.

I read they plan on making the snake regurgitate the man. I don't know if that's possible or not. Supposedly he is wearing a snake proof suit. One thing is for sure. It's bound to get good viewing just to see what all the hub bub is about. It airs Dec. 7 at 9/8Central on Discovery Channel....Titled: Eaten Alive. The Belly of the Beast.

I have heard about this but have many questions about it. I have a ball python for a pet. When I put a rat in the cage, it grabs it with it's mouth and then wraps around it. It doesn't start swallowing it until it feels the heart stop beating. It is my understanding that is the way all constrictors do it...squeeze, feel for a pulse, and then eat when there is no pulse. I sure hope his suit can protect against suffocation by squeezing.
I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

The same Slate magazine site has an article by Jackson Landers that claims anaconda have already invaded and become established in the Everglades.

That does sound like a thing....I know Florida has a problem with things like Burmese Pythons being released in to the wild and establishing themselves. the everglades being a *really fantastic* environment for reptiles.

Yeah I would guess.....in most areas snakes actually have to "hunt" a meal....these are being fed on a diet of Dumas......

What's next? Getting swallowed by a whale. Oh, wait. That's been done.

Just another day in the wilderness for this little guy:
