I have a 86 winchester that was converted from 40-65 to 45-70 years ago. I have been thinking about converting it back to 40-65 as I have other 45-70 rifles. In my junk there is a winchester 86 40-65 octagon barrel. The original gun is round barrel so something would have to be done to the nose cap. It's not like I need a 40-65. Any thoughts on a 40-65? Anybody use one?
