Cool. Where is that Thousand Island Lakes?

Next summer I am doing a canoe expedition from Eagle, AK to Circle, AK on the Yukon River. I was going to do it by myself but just invited my sister from Texas to join me and she is super excited about it. It's going to be epic!

Sooo heads up. The new season of Life Below Zero starts tonight.

In other news, guess what I am doing on Sunday, or what ever day Sue is able to make it into town?

Notice the Rust Princess in the back ground? This was from her visit before last.

It's just a glitch with the program. They are working on it. They are really fast to fix it if you let them know.

No one gets banned for having a difference of opinion. People get banned for being rude little sh*t-tards. Really, if you are respectful, you can have any opinion you want.

That was my point. I think i've been pretty respectful in my differences in opinion, no personal attacks or rudeness. If anything i'd say it was the opposite towards me. As one member said "I've already been flogged".

Anyway. Off topic, sorry. Carry on.

Well speak of the devil. This just in:

Hunter kills 2 brown bears after man mauled near Kodiak
Chris Klint Chris Klint, Senior Digital Producer, [email protected]

    POSTED: 11:31 PM AKST Nov 04, 2014 UPDATED: 11:37 PM AKST Nov 04, 2014

    Courtesy USCG
    ANCHORAGE -

A hunter defending a man seriously injured in a bear mauling killed two bears near Kodiak, according to Alaska State Troopers.

In an AST dispatch issued Tuesday night, troopers say the attack on 68-year-old Sitka resident Michael Snowden was reported by the U.S. Coast Guard at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Coast Guardsmen had responded to the scene on Sally Island -- about 30 miles west of Kodiak, in the east arm of Uganik Bay.

“(Snowden) had been attacked by a brown bear while deer hunting,” troopers wrote. “His hunting partner, Jeff Ostrin age 38, of Camas, Wash., dispatched the bear during the attack. While waiting for help another bear appeared and Ostrin dispatched that bear also.”

A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew flew to the site and medevaced Snowden, who was taken to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center for treatment of injuries to his leg.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers subsequently determined that Snowden and Ostrin had come across a family of bears in the incident.

“Investigation by AWT revealed that it was a sow with two large cubs that attacked Snowden,” troopers wrote.

Lol It was my friend Lori's first time camping in Alaska. I wanted to make it easy for her. Two tents, two EZ Ups. Rain, rain, rain. Beer.
