That is interesting....looks like a lot of work.
Some dog breeder friends do a mix of ground chicken and the brown rice cooked in big batches and frozen.

    Thanks for posting.

    Question???

How is this different from canning the same nutritious foods for human consumption and feeding the leftovers to the dog?

With this method one has simply rendered good food fit only for animal consumption where canning by normal means would allow use by both humans and pets.

Sorry, but the first thing I thought of when viewing that link was "what a waste of good canning jars and food."
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

You make a good point about just feeding the leftovers to the dog,and that is what I normally do. As for wasting jars, wash rinse repeat.

You guys know that feeding people food to dogs can cause problems. But to each his own. Some people foods are deadly to dogs.

My wife makes something similar for our pups when they were having skin allergy issues. They have been thriving on it for the last two years. She freezes it, but canning would be great for long term. Excellent post.

Btw: there have been days when what the dog was eating looked good enough season and eat!

I often cook for my dogs these days and I noticed that they are healthier compared before. I always follow cookbooks for dogs to ensure that they are safe to eat for my pets. I checked the link and it seems fine. I might want to do something like this in the future.

Ask anyone over 70 and it is likely when they where children the family dog got scraps from the table because kibble simply didn't exist. Ever notice that it seems most dogs die from cancer or organ failure ? A bag of who knows what is no substitute for fresh healthy food, for man or beast!
