357 caliber arrows BLAMMO!!

Has anyone tried these? They are adapters for an arrow so you can load a 38-357 cartridge insteat of a broadhead. Im surprised it is legal, but i doubt it would be ok for archery season. But kinda cool.

That's crazy, and probably exactly as gimmicky and ineffective as it looks. It gets a lot of cool points though.

Not buying it, and especially not since I just watched some video reviews. You're just not making an effective 357 or 38 chamber/microbarrel out of 1/8" of cheap plastic.

Several videos on youtube showing just that. They do look like fun and somewhat dangerous toys. That alone has it's own value.

Looks interesting, I'm sure they would be effective in the right circumstances. It would definitely be fun to play with. Maybe some low velocity exploding targets? Now THAT would be gratifying archery practice.
My one concern is this: what keeps the force of releasing the arrow from firing the cartridge? That would be a fairly heavy head on an arrow so I guess acceleration wouldn't be that fast, just a thought though.

Also, what about arrow damage from recoil on impact? Will you be able to unscrew the head after firing or will it be a permanent fixture?

A miniature bang stick is exactly what it is. A professional Bang stick usually has one or two safeties on it to prevent misfire, I see none on these. All the fishing captains who guide at the lodge where I work use bang sticks on the large halibut they hook.

Exactly that; substantially insufficient acceleration. Much as substantially insufficient deceleration in impact with watermelons and ballistic gel gave unreliable primer ignition in the youtube vids. At any rate, I would imagine the only likely injury if such a thing happened might be to the eyes.

Well, it looks like the guys making the video reviews had a whole lot of fun, anyhow. Also kind of seems like elements of broadhead arrows and .357 magnum bullets combining to make something not quite as good as either.

Oh yeah! I remember reading about those a few years ago. If I remember correctly they were of questionable effectiveness. A flechette shotgun shell would probably be more useful.

I always found shotgun flechettes to be underwhelming.

Seems like these bullet arrows would explode in all directions. The shell will not contain the blast.

But if you are really pissed at someone or something then you could shoot them with one of these...or tie dynamite to the arrow Hazard county style.

As I recall I first saw this concept many years ago and the cartridge holder was metal, not plastic. Contact with the target drove the cartridge back against the firing pin to fire the cartridge. Simple acceleration from shooting the arrow wouldn't cause the cartridge to fire. There is another variation of this same concept, locally known as a Rocket Arrow: using a single shot .410 shotgun and a stout arrow, remove the shot from a .410 shot shell, load it into the shotgun chamber, slide the arrow down the barrel and into the shot portion of the shell. When fired you get a very fast but not all togather very accurate arrow. Popular up here with some red neck poachers.

Rambo blew up all sots of stuff including helo's with exploding tipped arrows.

If you take aluminum arrow, remove insert for tip, fill with BP, replace the insert with a percussion nipple....add a cap and fire at a hard surface.......Opps, did I say thaaaaaat.
