Hmm, well if you're 13 and I assume a freshman in high school.. there is the option of the wrestling team... football team... track... you name it. Crash recommends the navy seal training.. but you're a little young for that one right now.. There may be some extracurricular activities in your area too.. such as Boxing clubs, camping and hiking organizations, etc.. I'd try those suggestions.

Ridge offers some good advice. At your age, get involved with school athletics if you can. Martial Arts schools offer good discipline for the body and mind. Gym class (do they still have that?) should be able to teach you some exercise routines. The Seal routine may be a bit extreme, but if you look at their workout routines it'll give you some good ideas of types of exercise. Not knowing your physical condition.....don't over do anything at the start. If you're not used to alot of exercise your muscles will build up lactic acid when you start. It's going to hurt. If you over do it, it may hurt to the point where you quit.

Cardio, cardio, and more cardio. Anaerobic exercises are great for buiding strength, and yes, they do strengthen the heart as well, but cardio will help your endurance as well as the strength/health of your lungs/heart. Also helps maintain a decent body fat percentage. Trust me, it's a lot easier to hump a pack several miles if you don't smoke and are used to covering that ground at a more rapid speed without load.

Running through the forest would be good for cardio, endurance and helping you gain faster reflexes and responses

Trail running is awesome if you're in an environment where you can. SOOOO much better than running on pavement.

Do crosscountry running, or swimming -- Or both. They are both high school sports and probably the most practically applicable to a survival situation. Both of them teach you endurance and train pretty much the entire body. You will learn a lot about how much your body can take and how far you can go. Swimming is of course an essential skill no matter what so I can't help but think it will only help.

When I was around your age, I did trail running, lived in some pretty rugged country. I went every day with my dog,(huge German Shepherd/wolf mix, I still miss him) even in winter. When the track season came around I kicked butt, it was almost too easy running on a flat track after the trail running practice I had. Of course, that's so long ago the dog and I were dodging dinosaurs, LOL.
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

Those words are from a "Jody" and Crash is a Navy man. I was hoping it would help spark some fond memories of Bootcamp for him.

Only the rivers fed by a glacier are murky. The Knik river is very murky. If I go in the water my wife wont let me use the washer because if fills it full of glacial flour. I put in a washtub sink in the garage so I can prewash my cloths before they go into the washer.
