How many of us here travel by motorcycle and do Motorcycle Camping?
This is something I like to do. In fact, I love camping and I go camping in many different ways. Its could be hiking, cycling, car or even motorcycle. I usually saddle up my dirt bike ( a 2007 KLX 250), fill the bags with a hammock or tent, tarp, ground sheet, stove, water, cook set, food and some clothes and I set off to where ever I wanna go. I do take some light clothing. However my survival kit is something which is a MUST!
My survival kit consists of the usual stuff, but since I am going motorcycle camping, I have added some stuff which to me, I called my Bike's Survival Kit. Its an array of tools to get the motorcycle going again.
My Bike's Survival Kit:
1. Spare inner tire tubes for the front and rear wheel.
2. Tire irons (usually in my fender bag which also houses one of the inner tubes).
3. Inner tube patch (in case I get more than 1 or 2 puncture)
4. Spare clutch and throttle cable ( I utilize the Vespa cables as they can be slid into the existing clutch and throttle cable housing tubes.)
5. Spare Clutch and front brake lever.
6. Spare plug.
7. Chain oil spray can (small, Motorex has a small one).
8. Spare front headlamp bulb.
9. A half length pump, good enough to get me 12 to 15 psi.
10. My tools in a small tool bag.
11. 10 pieces 2 feet cable ties in case my tubes are done..This will be used to prevent the tires from moving out of the rims when tied at 8 spots at least around the tires.
12. Some smaller cable ties.
13. Duck Tape.
14. Spare clips for the chain.
15. Spare fuses.
