Default Just rode To Asia's Most Southern Tip- Tanjung Piai

I just finish a two way ride to Asia Mainland's Most Southern Tip. It is called Tanjung Piai in the state of Johore, Malaysia. I started on Friday took me 12 hrs and started back on Sunday. Total distance covered is roughly 995 miles two way. I rode my Kawasaki KL 250 dual sports as my BMW K 13 S was having some sensor problems. It weas fun though..riding casually and saw many things which I might not have sen if I was speeding on my Beemer bike. Pictures will be on the way soon.

Yep Hunter..however, it was quite a good ride and I wasn't feeling tired. I would have if I had been riding my big bikes as I would have been speeding, which would have given me brain fatigue. On a drt bike it was something like 50 to 60 miles per hr..and when I reached the destination a good 11 hours later, I wasn't feeling that tired compared to riding my beemer or my Versys. I could still stay up till 3am, talking to the guys.
I guess spending 6 to 7 hrs twice a week on the trails with the dirt bike, gave me the stamina...hehe

Was it a Yamaha DT 175 Enduro taht ranges from F to H model? The one with the metal tank and round monoshock wing arms?
If so, I had one back in 1982...a great two stroker...could match most of the dirt bikes and even mx bikes at that time...if the rider is good..hehe

I was in the second picture, the one with the grey hair working on the saddle bags on the green dirt bike bearing the plates PJN 171.

Sounds right it was a 1978 , first year for the adjustable mono shock, I think, put about 14 K miles on, road to work on it year around....fun to race on the ice cover lakes...
I think I used up 7 out of my 9 lives, and switched to a quad

Hunter...I started dirt biking when I was 14 and started with a Suzuki TS 100..then moved to a number of bikes till I was actually racing in mx. My last MX bike was a Yamaha YZ 125 G model..a two stroke...I have always love 2 strokes,, till I did some road racing..I sold my WR200R 5 years ago, and now I am riding a Kawasaki Versys 650 (japan model), a BMW K 1300 S and my all time favorite Kawasaki KLX 250 (2007 model). I purposely bought the 2007 model in 2010 as I prefer the carburetor model to the fuel injection model. I re jetted the bike and fitted a Two Brother USA Racing muffler..the bike rocks now.

I often like to get around using the trails and dirt roads. So much gets missed taking the main roads. My first one was a 1975 250 CanAm. Here’s my present one .......... do I ever miss the old 2 stokes.
