Default Made this from old junk ....

I was cleaning out an old trunk I have and came across an OLD Scanner, electric cord was cut off, the buttons were missing, so its junk, Then I thought hhmmmm.. What if I was in a SHTF scenario what could I do with this thing.... well after taking it apart with the tools I had on me , A multi too and a little pry bar.
I thought ok I would have my GHB with me so what do i have in there that I could also use ........ here is what i scavenged from the scanner , the 9v battery backup clip thingy ( you know the thing that goes on top of a 9v) and an LED bulb , and the wire for extra lashing if needed.
So I thought well I have super glue in my bag , what if I spread the prongs of the LED light stick it in the holes of the 9v clip and glue it down would it light up , since I carry a 9v and steel wool as one of my fire starting methods, I tried it and here is what the finished results looked like....

It's always cool to create something useful out of junk.

Very cool.......MacGyver will rule in a SHTF.......You don't see junk, you see raw materials.

That's what we do. Along with collecting left over parts when we reassemble stuff. I've never understood why engineers require so many parts when I can make stuff work with less. Unintentional, sure but still. Cool flashlight.

Ain't that the truth! When I transferred from Hawaii to Washington State the Navy would not ship my motorcycle. I put the bike in the elevator (KZ750) and took it up to my 12th floor apartment. Took it completely apart and crated everything up. Movers came and marked the wooded crates "household hobby". When my stuff got to Washington the first thing I had to do was buy a book (think Chilton's) on how to work on the bike. When I was done I had a rather large (and disturbing) amount of parts left over. I guess it's another example of engineers putting in stuff that isn't needed. Two weeks later I embarked on on a 10,000 mile, 60 day motorcycle trip. Never had any problems.

Nice job. I would consider adding a resistor between 100 and 470 ohm; that LED won't live long that way.
