Gear Pods....What do you think?

There was some talk about these Gear Pods, so I though I would bring they up.

They are cylinders, with either screw-on caps or connectors to make into a long tube.

Not sure about how big around they are.....but come in different lengths, and colors.....with modular possibilities.

They do offer Kits that can either be purchased or made up of several separate "Pods"

Seem pricey to me, ....and I don't really like the hard round, long, concept.....but remind me of the home made PVC stash containers.

I do have a couple of Milsup Mortar tubes that have maps, and FSK in the boat and canoe....threads on the plastic open really hard....need to keep greased up with Vaseline....not all bad just rub it on cotton for fire.

I have a 3 foot chunk of 8 inch pvc and a left over cleanout. I priced out a 8 inch pvc glue cap, it was around $35.00. Surprised me.

The specs show they are 2.75 inches in diameter (internal). Not very big.

On the particular one I looked at....

• Dimensions: 3.25” maximum diameter (2.75" internal diameter), 4.75” external height (4.5" internal height)

Oh yes, how well I know. Our code requires us to air test a building's drainage system. So the cleanout caps get cranked down real tight to pass the air test, cranked down real tight with a 24 inch pipe wrench.. To be honest I think the plugs would need cutting out in order to access the drain for rodding. So a cache should have a BAH to knock the cap out.

Thats reminds me of a thermos I used to have, it had a small insulated bowl/storage cup that screwed onto the bottom was about 4 inches deep wish i still had that thing
