    I Wonder Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink what ever comes out?"

    If it's the same guy that they've been talking about for the last week (a recruit that was found out to be a jihadist before he entered the service), then security must be pretty bad. It's early, and I'm sure details will change. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims.

    Amen to that.

    This morning it looks like the shooter was an active duty soldier suffering from PTSD that didn't get (or like) the care he was receiving.

    It's a MILITARY BASE! They should all be armed! Where is the common sense in this country!

    I don't know that we have ever had a time in the military that weapons were not locked away. At least after soldiers stopped owning their weapons.

    What are you crazy? Why would you allow people who have been trained to carry a real assault rifle around everywhere they go to actually be allowed to carry their own firearms around a military base? Despite the fact that most of them already spent at least a year carrying around an assault rifle and ammo on military bases and pretty much everywhere else they went for that year.

    @Greenfox

    I'm assuming you are talking about the new World Trade Center? I saw that too, honestly I think it was absolutely great that a 16 year old broke in and climbed the needle. Goes to show that our $40 million security isn't so good haha.

    I do not think everybody on a military base should be armed. Those that have been trained?-----absolutely. Keep in mind that there are many, many jobs (NEC's/MOS's, etc) that do not involve carrying a weapon.

    Now they are saying that it is not PTSD but rather an argument that started it, that the guy had anger management issues anyway. They are being very careful now to say it wasn't mental illness or untreated PTSD.

    Just another smuck that should have been weeded out in basic training, low-stress seems to be working. He deployed with my Brigade out of Bliss, which was my third tour. His "claims" were farce, being not a single soldier received a purple heart in the entire Brigade. Granted we were rocketed quite a bit depending on what base you were at, but all we were doing was closing out the war. Sorry for the victims, glad the families don't have to face the shooter again.
