TARGET is still not the safest place to shop. Got an email 2 days ago (long after the original emails went out) that my store REDCARD (not a visa or mc, just TARGET) could still be at risk. After 4 days of calling on and off 3x + per day, I got thru and cancelled it.
The info given to me was:
NO SS number info was on the card so not stolen.
No "autopay" info linked to other accounts by which I paid my bills was on the card so "whew" that other account is safe.
They were "sorry" for the inconvenience.
"Oh, and if you gave a TARGET gift card to others for Christmas, it might not work sorry..... DID YOU save the receipt" (who knows??? and yes I gave 3)

I like Target but I never shop there. In my town it's located in two extremely inconvenient places and the store hours are not conducive to my shopping there.
