    Unhappy Guests vs Registered users

As I am typing this, I noticed that here are 105 Guests viewing this board and only 3 Registered users. Come on Guests, take the plunge. Stop lurking and start contributing. Please.

There is no doubt that each and every one of you have something to teach everyone else. That's what makes these forums work.

I am looking forward to meeting all of the current guests as members real soon and learning what they have to offer.

    Be well all.

I hear you but, it seems that if they don't work out, they don't work out. If they turn out undesirable they get banned.
But, if they have something useful, we all win.

As a newbe myself, it seems as though the board is a little slow (I really like this site by the way) and I thought that maybe the lurkers could help contribute to pick things up a bit.

    Thanks for your response.

Several of those guests are spiders that roam the web. Currently, there are spiders from Google (5), MSN (4), Yandex (2) and that's just the handful I looked at. It's also not unusual to see connections to the US Military or other government agencies. There are a couple of military connections at the moment.

lol Must be a slow day continent-wide.

Two other forums I frequent (1x hunting/fishing and 1x motorcycle ownership) both had nearly identical threads pop up today.

One guy on the hunting forum actually went through all 11,000 members to see how many were active, inactive, "'ghosts" (never posted) and unregistered guests. I'm guessing he's retired.

From time to time we have heard rumors about "other forums". We have dispelled those myths however. I think Myth Busters even did a segment on it and proved they don't exist.

I'm sorry. I don't click on links when I don't know where they are going. There are all sorts of internet vermin one might catch doing that.

On most forums that is easy to do. You click on Members, then click on Posts to sort them according to post counts.

I think most of the guests tend to be people just looking to learn and may not have anything to contribute yet. Having said that, they cant ask any questions till they register.
