Good find! I had to build a few of my own when I remodeled over 10 years ago. Not quite as fancy as these are.
A few things to think about....
Anything mounted in an outside wall should be well insulated to minimize condensation. A couple of desiccant packs also go a long way.
Anything kept in a bathroom should be stored in a zip lock bag with desiccant packs inside and out. Locking the bathroom door when you're in the shower or on the throne will buy you a few needed seconds.

Why's that? If you had the ability to own whatever weapon you wanted to and as many as you wanted to wouldn't stashing a few around the house be something you would consider?

"A few" is about 10, right?

Depends on the size of the house doesn't it?

I'll confess; I've thought about this. At least just an armored door and wall section adjacent to the door.
Not that I think I'd likely ever need it but we do get a few armed home invasions around here, and it also just plain 'feels cool'.

Canid, when we installed our new front door one of the things I installed was plate metal on the lock jamb that ties into the wall studs. It's all concealed by the woodwork but it reinforces the door jamb so if someone wants to kick in the door they will be kicking into the plate steel instead of just the wooden door jamb. There are much easier entry points if they want in that bad, such as the windows, but at least the door jamb is there to stay. If I open the door some morning to retrieve the paper and there is a big burly guy laying there with a seriously swollen ankle or broken shoulder I'll know what happened.![]()

I'm more concerned (read: not really that concerned) about the possibility of an armed confrontation beginning with a stranger trying to talk his way inside with a petition, magazine subscription or similar bait.
In other words, it's not the door kicking which would be the primary threat, and for a man with a pistol, he would not need to force the door open to make or pose a threat.
It's not at all common, but it's a tactic which has been used by burglars in this area.

I get bombarded with solicitations and requests for donations at the office and at half of the retail stores I enter. Phone calls, mail, walk-ins - the whole nine. I send a lot of checks to the charities, causes, and candidates I support. I buy girl scout cookies and band candy and fund-raising stuff and God knows what else from friends' kids. JUST DON'T COME TO MY HOME OR WALK UP TO THE DOOR OF MY CAR TRYING TO SELL ANYTHING.
My home is my sanctuary. It's a private place where I escape from the rest of the world. Family, friends, and neighbors are welcome, but I'm the least friendly person you'll ever want to meet if you come to my door soliciting or trying to sell ANYTHING. And I give you fair warning. I'll know the instant you cross over my property-line. You will be recorded as you pass the "No Trespassing or Soliciting" sign at my front steps. You will be recorded and I'll be watching you on a monitor if you ring the doorbell below the notice that reads, "No Soliciting. Trespassers Will Be Detained For The Police." And if I don't know you, you will be recorded - FOR MY PERSONAL AMUSEMENT (OR FOR MY LAWYER IF NECESSARY) LATER ON - as you sh!t yourself when I open the inside door and you see the large gun in my waistband as you look through the glass pane on my locked storm door.

We had only been married perhaps 4 years. My wife was fixing dinner, the kids were playing in the floor and a salesman knocked on the door. My wife, with kitchen knife in hand, answered the door. Short spiel, no thank you, persistent spiel, another no thank you. When he started on his 3rd spiel my wife pointed the knife at him and asked him if he knew the definition of lucky. He said no. She explained that lucky is what he'd been if he tried to get through another sales pitch without getting hurt. Lucky is what he'd be if he could make the sidewalk before she caught him. To which the salesman turned and left. The kids all explained what happened at once when I got home. It seems the were pretty excited about the whole thing. I just patted her on the shoulder and said, "You did good, kid". They still talk about that.
