Default This Should Happen More Often

    Good, good, good, good!

Two New Hampshire men who were allegedly trying to steal fireworks were killed when the blow torch they were using to break into a metal container ignited the commercial-grade explosives that were stashed inside.

Apparently they didn't realize they were applying fire to gun powder. The penalty is a bit harsh but you pay your money and you take your chances.

They had no idea what was in that container or safe or whatever it was they were trying to burn their way into. It exploded. They died. Oh, well. The only sad thing is that the owners property was destroyed in the process.

If it had contained someone's life savings - THEY WOULD HAVE STOLEN IT.

If it had contained money being saved for a life-saving medical procedure not covered by insurance - THEY WOULD HAVE STOLEN IT.

If it had contained irreplaceable family heirlooms - THEY WOULD HAVE STOLEN IT.

If it had contained someone's medicine - THEY WOULD HAVE STOLEN IT.

If it contained expensive uninsured tools required for the owner to earn a living - THEY WOULD HAVE STOLEN IT.

These two didn't give a sh!t about how badly their actions would have affected the owner. They were out to burglarize and steal and carry away as much of the earnings from someone else's hard labor as they could get away with.

GreatUsername, is your avatar really a picture of you? If so, I'll assume that's your gun in your hand. Did you take that picture for the sole purpose of making yourself look like a tough guy? Do you actually have the testicles to use that thing if necessary? Would you shoot someone who had broken into your home and was walking out the door carrying your safe containing your life savings, or would you help them carry your life savings out to their truck?

I don't give a damn about the death of ANYONE who sets out to victimize someone else. I would be thrilled if every stolen car crashed into a tree, killing the thief behind the wheel. I would be thrilled if every operating meth lab exploded, providing that the only ones killed were the drug makers and no one else was injured and harmed in any way. I would be thrilled if every thief who broke into a home and stole from an elderly couple tripped on the road and broke their neck.

You get my point? Let me repeat myself: I don't give a damn about the death of ANYONE who sets out to victimize someone else.

And that's the one which happened. Incendiaries don't have a moral agenda; they just burn, real fast like, when you apply enough heat.

I agree with Ken. The world would be a better place if more criminals had their "jobs" end like this. Speaking of which, some of these ding dings put so much time and effort into stealing that it might be easier (and safer lol) to get a real flipping job like the rest of us. It pisses me off to have to work so hard to get stuff and then have a couple of losers come take it, not giving a second thought as to what might have gone into getting the item or how it will affect the victim.

Jess, my wife is an RN for an insurance company. They specialize in workman's comp insurance. She is ALWAYS lamenting that folks work harder at staying off work than they would if they just went back to work. The ones that are really hurt want to go back to work before they should and the slackers with hang nails want paid the rest of their lives. I think your comment about time and effort on the part of a thief is spot on.

I am in complete agreement. I often tell people that when America was first founded, a person was hung for stealing a horse. If we started executions for auto theft, I bet we'd see a sharp decline in stolen cars.

They did that very thing here in Indy. Car jackings are just not heard of around here and for good reason. A couple of years ago some guy had the bright idea that would be the thing to do. He jacked his first car at gun point, jacked his second car at gun point, jacked his third car at gun point and the driver stepped out, pulled his .45 and shot him dead as the car jacker was hopping in the car. Our castle law extends to the vehicle.

They should name a city park in honor of the third driver.

I tried to find the original news story but can't locate it. As I said, it's been a couple of years ago.

If you ever find his name, please let me know. I'll be happy to send him a box of Speer Gold Dot .45 ACP +P 200 Grain GDHP to replace the ammo he used.

How 'bout you, GreatUsername? Will you send him a box, too?
