Hey Rebel, I see that you mentioned requals in your post. What do you use for that? You might find a pistol in the same make to standardize your grip. Look at the Colt .45 and the Ruger Mk.II the grip angles are the same for both. It was made that way on purpose.
H&K USP 40. The range instructor was showing us an airsoft. I thought, no thanks. Even though it's an exact replica the use is limited. Besides , requal is shooting for the blind.
A proper size 22 would be easily carried on hikes. A survival piece during hunts if the primary weapon becomes inoperable or lost. It's quiet. Some can be fitted with different barrels and accessories. You can carry alot of ammo in a limited space. Accurate within 40 yards.
If you know of something that matches the H&K that would be great.

I went with the Walther P22. I just came in from shooting it and I like this little pistol. It's light weight and accurate. I didn't know S&W bought Walther. It comes with a lifetime warranty. The sights are like the H&K. So, that will be good for cheap practice and should make for a decent B.O.B. pistol.
I was able to get it for $ 237.50 with the discounts.
What does a Brick of .22 LR cost where ever you are........? If Wallmart had a fathers day sale and a guy could get 10 bricks on super-sale, that would not be all bad.
Picking up some extra magazines might be handy......Enjoy......![]()
I will be picking up a 22 this weekend. Nothing fancy or expensive just an import, it is a cylinder gun, comes with a long rifle cyclinder and a magnum cylinder. It has a 5" barrel, single action, and all for 50 bucks. He is throwing a holster in.
I think it's a good deal.
I can't believe the Browning Buckmark hasn't come up. It is IMO the best 22 pistol going and the pro's agree. I have several 22 pistols and the Buckmark is far and away the most reliable and accurate with value pack ammo. Unlike the Ruger MkII it has a mag release button rather than the keeper on the bottom of the grip. It is available in all kinds of configurations and is easily scoped.
i know what you guys mean about some of those mouseguns. north american arms makes a nice little subcompact revolver in .22WMR that i've got my eyes on, called the black widow. you might check it out.
i love ruger's single six for a full sized .22 revolver. autoloading .22s have given me a lot of greif over the years, though i did love my 10/22 carbine rifle like a child.

A gent showed me one last week, neet little gun. He unloaded it for me and I cocked it back, ya need strong fingers. It is made so that you def. need to think when you cock it.
I may just pick on up.
I have the convertible model with 2 cylinders for 22lr/22mag. It is a hoot to plink with. I shoot it alot with a Aguila Colibri ammo in the yard at a trap I set up. I put one of the mini-master grips on it. Still pockets really well, goes with me everywhere packing 60gr 22lr. It actually performs considerably better than 22mag.
I highly endorse them. I think the new one with the XS sight is called a Pug or something. They are really nice too. I shot one over at Quantico a few weeks ago.
totally; it's a revolver the size of a derringer. cant beat for subcompact rimfires.

I have the Freedom Arms Belt Buckle w/ the 4 shot .22Magnum. mounted in the buckle. You just push the button a the gun drops into your hand.
Fun, cheap to shoot, slow to load, overpriced, if you're gonna carry one I myself only carry a 22cal when I don't have any place at all to put something heavier. I am a coward and want something that when it goes bang I can be pretty sure it did some damage. The ole 22LR will bounce around like a BB in a boxcar and make a mess, sometimes. Any will work if you stick it in someone's ear. Had a great uncle, guy shot him thru both cheeks of his rear with a 22. He got mad because of where he shot him and what with. He thought he rated more than a 22. That's just my opinion on 22s. They are good for a lot but not defensive carry.
That's funny. I'd sure hate to get a case of azz whup dropped on me because the guy got mad that I used a .22.
"What the *#$% did you shoot me with?"
"A .22."
"What? You think that's all I rate? Why you little @#$#$!"

Update on the P22:
WOW, what a hoot! I've put almost a brick through her without cleaning and still no malfunction.
The deal came with one free cleaning. lol. Someone will be cussing.
It's doing what I wanted for cheap plinking and practice. I'm shooting every day. I might even be getting better. Nah!
I got a Fobus holster for it and am very impressed. This makes a light weight set-up.
later...
I own a Walther P-22. Nice gun. Reliable and relatively accurate. Only use it for plinking at targets, though.
If I carry a .22, it's my Beretta Minx. "Pocket gun" -close range only, but reliable and you can carry it well-concealed no matter what you're wearing.
I also have a Raven .25 as well. Rick, if you want another one, it's yours. Thing cost me $59.00 new 25 years ago and even then I knew I got ripped off bad. Terrible design. Slide is razor sharp. Can't hit a wall if you're inside a room. Junk, junk, junk. Not worth the FFL transfer fees. Even my pearl handed "pimp-style" Bauer .25 cal. was a better gun, and that was junk, too.
