New PA guy wanting mentor!

Hello all, been stalking the site for a while and love what I'm seeing! So much knowledge and experience that I'm hoping to soak up and absorb.

Bit about myself, I'm 26 and love camping and hiking and looking to expand upon that with some serious wilderness knowledge. I live in central PA and looking for a mentor, specifically with hopes to learn more about edible plants.

Anyone nearby who's up to the task?

Hello and welcome. Glad you found us. I am not able to give you any insight into finding a Mentor in your local area but I do have a suggestion. Find the local Boy Scout Troop and then find out who teaches the merit badge for Wildness survival. Usually they have the local edible stuff down to an art. Again Welcome to the fire.

Thanks for the welcome bud. Sadly I had actually looked into one local chapter and was disappointed as it seemed more like kids arts and crafts, glitter paint on store bought pine cones...I'll keep looking around!
