    Default New California gun laws

I assume that many of you have seen the laws that were passed by our genius legislature. Not one of them will do anything to stop crime, but they have made felons of several hundred thousand CA citizens with the stroke of a pen. I had been wondering when they would go after ammo and now they have. I just hope the rest of you don't suffer the same fate.
    I know what hunts you.

    Well... that was interesting...

The funny thing for me is the rifle/shotgun combos. I was going through the list and thinking "okay, I can see how if you don't understand the situation/firearms fully, you may think this is helpful" for each point, but then I saw "ban shotgun and rifle combos" and just kind of didn't know what to think. Perhaps this is targeted specifically at the Judge and other revolvers that take .410/.45lc? That could make some sense, as I imagine the people who wrote these laws know sufficiently little about the breadth of other such combo guns that are actual long-guns that they might overlook how it's an odd law. But for that matter, I thought revolvers that shoot .410 were already illegal in CA?

What do you suppose the argument was for the shotgun/rifle combo ban?

PS: thank goodness that's not WA.

But everybody who knows about them firearms knows how dangerous a rifle/shotgun combo is. Clearly they can shoot *anything*. They're deadly no matter what you feed them.

Gun and ammo dealers in Oregon, Nevada and Arizona must be counting the bucks and laughing all the way to the bank. The only thing those laws will do is drive local retailers out of business and push sales into neighboring states. This at a time when California's finances are in complete disarray. Brilliant!!

One could only hope they go broke. It will give us all something to point to and laugh.

    Canid, I apologize.

I wish all the idiots who come up with all the stupid laws, not just these gun restrictions, but ALL the stupid laws, had to feel their consequences rather than just all us working blokes who have to live under them. There's an awful lot of "for thee but not for me" going on these days.

I wish my state's legislature listened any better to me than our federal one listens to either of us. Alas, the cost of being a single person in a democratic process, and a sadly exploited one at that.

There is no offense taken, It just sucks to live in.

I know a lot of people here that aren't going to do anything this new laws call for...

As a dual resident of AZ and CA, AZ is not laughing and rolling in the bucks, and there are no trucks loading up with ammo on the boarder. They will not sell to Californians and get very pissed if one tries to buy ammo from them. Honestly i'm not even paying a lot of attention to these new gun ban laws because I frankly don't give a **** what they say, i'm not forfeiting anything. The only thing I care about is being able to acquire ammo.

That's because ammo is scarce. If it weren't, you would feel differently.

And how many ammo dealer's get pissed at someone for coming into the state and buying a legal commodity ,. the shops I go to are planning to stock as much ammo as they can just because of the Calif. ammo law. you know not caring about a law that doesn't affect you is OK I guess, that is until one comes around that does affect you, so when you speak out about that law, well there may be no one left to listen just one mans opinion.

It does affect me. I don't care because it doesn't matter what they say, i'm not turning in my guns, and I don't know anyone else that will.

Uhhh yeah..... Of course if there was no ammo shortage I wouldn't be as concerned about being able to find it....because....I could find it....

The though of the assholes and their supposed agenda to stop crime does nothing but sicken me and raise my blood pressure. I try to avoid thinking about it as much as possible. Hopefully this all just runs its course peacefully and the citizens don't have to take action.
