Default Some questions for a paper Im writing

    Hey,
So I wasn't sure where to put this or if im allowed to :s .

However I'd much appreciate it if you would take the time to answer these questions I made:
    1. Do you know what a solar storm is and what a large solar storm could do to our society?

    2. How often do you use an elevator?

    3. Do you have some fresh batteries on standby?

    4. When you fill your vehicles fuel tank up, do you fill any fuel containers as well?

    5. Do you have a non electric cooking option?

    6. If you take any prescription medication, do you have enough to last you a couple of months without restocking?

    7. Do you keep cash on hand (out of your bank)?

    8. Do you own or know anyone close to where you live who owns a battery-powered or hand crank radio?

    9. Do you keep several gallons of unscented chlorine bleach in your house?

If yes, then do you know the percentage of chlorine in the bleach?

Would you know how to disinfect the water using the bleach?

    10. Do you own a non-electronic can opener?

    11. Do you keep sun cream in your house?

    12. How much of your food requires refrigeration of some kind?

    13. How often do you go shopping?

    14. Do you own any buckets?

If this isn't allowed I apologise in advance.

Valkren, don't pay any attention to Sarge. She's our official "mascot troll." We figure that by keeping her around we'll discourage most of the other trolls out there from bothering us. Her profile says she's from Illinois, but her IP address tells us she's logging in from a tiny room in the sub-basement of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C. The last time she saw daylight was in 1972. We managed to get our hands on an old photo of Sarge. Here it is:

Large food shopping trips to the supermarket or Sam's Club to stock up? The kind that take us almost an hour to unload the truck and put everything away? Every 8 - 10 weeks.

Stops to pick up supermarket sale items or pick up fresh produce, bakery, fish, dairy and meats? Depends on my mood and whether or not we eat out a lot that week/month. Could be once a week or almost every day. I buy fish at least once a week from the wholesalers on the dock, bakery (except for donuts ) from local bakeries, meats (to use fresh or to freeze) from a few local butcher shops, and produce from local farm stands and farmers markets as the season allows. I rarely buy any perishables from a supermarket, except for dairy and vegetables in the dead of winter.

I also LOVE to stop in at a local specialty foods/restaurant supply company at least once a month. http://www.sidwainer.com/today.asp

So I guess the best answer to your question is, "it depends."

Well in the event of a Solar Proton event which can co-incide with a solar storm, it can have a depletion effect on the ozone, so more high energy UV rays reach the surface.

Also thanks I think I will

Sounds more like you might be writing a "catastrophe" novel.

As for your questions, I don't worry about any of that stuff 'cause Dear Leader will take care of me.

Just so you know, our answers won't help much with how a solar storm would effect society, mostly because people who participate in "survival forums" generally don't represent "society" as a whole.
