Paranoid? Jaded? Not at all. I govern my actions based upon countless lessons I've learned in my professional life. I've dealt with hundreds of false accusations against good and innocent people that were motivated by hatred, revenge, greed, the need for sympathy, or the need to find an innocent scapegoat.
Lots of people out there, kids included, will lie through their teeth and nail an innocent person to the wall if it serves their own interests. Ever hear the expression, "no good deed goes unpunished?" It's true. Many people, including kids, have no conscience. They suck, period. Don't give them an opportunity to make you their next victim.
