    Default Scary here in Boston....

    ss-130419-boston-manhunt-tease-8a.photoblog600.jpg

Came to work early this morning before the lockdown went city wide...... it is a surreal scene in the city. Blackhawks, armored vehicles soldiers everywhere.... I saw like 3 different bomb squads this morning. We ended up getting evacuated out of our jobsite and I'm safe at home about 20 miles outside the city...
What a crazy week it's been, just surreal.

Crazy week is definitely the right words.
Glad you got out of Beantown.I'm hearing there's 1000s of local law enforcement and Feds all over the place.
The MBT system is shut down.I'm not sure if they started taxi service again.

I left the downtown Crossing area via 93- had no problem... I know you cant get anywhere near watertown and parts of Cambridge.
    93 was eerily empty

    In all reality,

how does this affect everyone's concept of bug in/bug out, freedom of movement in a crisis situation, how fast TPTB can shut down a major population area and how we prepare for "created" emergencies?

24 hour curview and house to house searches?
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

I've been thinking about this stuff all day. I have lots of conflicts regarding the door to door searches.

Theyre not so much searching houses as they are searching houses for the hostage situation they expect to find. I was in Boston and bugged out. Always gotta be prepared for anything. I parked in a garage right near 93 and Mass Pike interchange... either of which can get me out of the city quickly.

    LOL

There's a time to bug out and a time to bug in.
    This is an "in"situation.

If you were someone stuck at home though, this WOULD be the perfect time to make sure all your weapons were in functioning order, loaded, and ready for use in case the fugitive tries to make hostages of your family, or in case you happen upon the opportunity to make a citizen's arrest. Just be careful and safe, the police have frayed nerves right now. I hope that this guy gets found soon.

I have a friend in lockdown. She just said "People sheltered in the city for work are now allowed to leave to go home. T still closed, but taxis are running."

I immediately thought about the bug in situation and if I would have been ready. I deem myself totally comfortable for about 4-5 days. Could go longer but would have to ration water.

Then again, we still are covered in snow so I certainly could use some of that.

    More from my Boston friend.

They are bringing full bus loads of police officers in from other towns and states. FULL BUS LOADS!!! The news is showing 15 police officers getting out of a van at once.

I'm attempting to control my suspicious nature but damn it, is it really smart to have so many authorities in ONE freaking area??? Because seriously, if these two guys were not acting alone, this is a brilliant diversion.

You are dealing with Mass. and the nannystate.

They are doing house to house "inventory", excuse me, search for fugitives.

Put everything away and stash the pistol with its 10 shot limit mag in the desk drawer.

    Nothing in plain sight!

You do not want a nervous Mass. LEO walking into your fully armed situation.

Boston PD sure has a bunch of up armored humvees!

That's kind of what I thought. Throw everything you've got at the situation while you still have a chance of catching him. I think she was thinking that this would be a good time for some others to take out a bunch of LEO all at once.
