Default My Find for the day

One of my old friends called me today and asked me if I had any use for an old military "T-10" parachute for nothing. First thing I thought of was all that parachord and said hell yea. My son is going to stop by and pick it up on the way home.
I don't think I'll have to worry about parachord for quite a while now. Never can have too much of that stuff.

Let me tell you about the tipi I made back in the 80s. I used heavy canvas painter's drop cloths and sewed it with an awl. It was only about 10 - 12 foot diameter and lacked the ozan and inside roof, but I used it a few times on some experimental cold weather weekenders (10 - 15 degrees) and it worked out pretty well for a very primitive set up.

Wow!!! I have always wanted one. I've been on some of those "rendezvous" with some old hard core mountain men type friends I have, and they have some good ones.
Bragg, dig out the picture man...

Ive got a wood stove, floor and antique steel wrought irom beds set up for the kids. I light it with kerosene lamps hanging from the stove pipe supports. Kids sleep out there all summer.

Other than my kids, alot of my guests stay in there. I fire up the wood stove in the winter for the kids to put on their skates and drink hot chocolate after. Its right beside my dugout in the trees.

It fits great with the surroundings there. I could never come to your place. You'd have to run me off at gun point.

Nice find Tahyo. Cordage and a chute - the possibilities are endless.

I bought it from a local native family from the Blackfeet Nation. Tony Starlight, his wife and kids even came out and set it up. They burned sweetgrass and did a little chant to bless it when it was finished. I chose not to paint it as not to offend. (even though they assured me it wouldntoffend them)

Oh, they make and sell them.....I supplied and peeled the poles.
