We think that's Rick going up the stairs. This is a very basic "survival" get-up...note: He's not barefoot, and he does have headgear to help prevent sunstroke...Sunburn's going to be a problem however!....

Sarge......why did you put that pic up? We need to ban that pic.
To the OP, when I teach shelter building to my scouts, I always teach the no-rope method. Rope is good if you have it.....but what if you don't? A debris shelter isn't very complex....just takes a lot of work to make.
I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

See? It's never me that posts it.
A shelter without lashings is pretty easy to put together. Debris huts of all kinds can be fashioned without cordage.

Too late Rick!
33 posts and the thread went off the azmith at post 10.
This place is getting almost as bad as Survival UK! They heve never stayed on track if a thread went more than 7 posts and their average is 3.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?
It dont seem to bother you too much your still hanging around
You do realize 90% of the posts that get derailed and turn into a mess, are usually redundant posts or just plain stupid posts. There is joking around and off topic comments made as well in a good post too, but Tell me in a normal conversation who dosent say a funny or make a comment a little off track.

OK, Now that we have the dreaded "hong" out of the way.....
Don't listen to them other guys......they like hongs and "Bare"(?spelling)
You are commended on getting by with out all the "normal required gear, (ie best of everything)and having the talent and imagination to "get by with what you can find, to use.
Some doosies....
I can recall the thread, that started out:
All you have to do is build a shelter from rocks and stones.......sorry didn't get a pic, it was raining...ah camera broke..ah is 20 miles away and truck is broke...ah.....Nothing to it.... I do it all the time....
So I had to explain to the young lad (gonna give him the benefit of the doubt here) that had to search the interweb for pic's of stone shelter.
Not as easy as it seems, as there are 4 kinds of stone, one handers, two handers, bucket rocks, ...and leaver-rites.....been building a stone retaining wall, but only work on it after the smashed fingers heal...
Then:
I always dig a well, so you need a shovel in the BOB (F250 pick-up BOB?)....
As far a cordage, I didn't know that you are supposed to carry this stuff around till I started hanging out here...unless it was to haul you gun or bow up into a tree stand....or drag out a downed animal...been doing it wrong all these years.
Of course only built shelters from debris on rare occasions that major mis-calculation required it, or needed a blind, ...or of course, because I felt like it....and normally have enough shelter to be comfortable.
So now I do carry 'cordage" in the form of braclets, belts, shoe laces or rifle slings made from paracord.....but some one better be dying before I take one apart....take me forever to make on, need to re-learn after every other stitch, it seems.
