And the .22 I just bought has a 10 round clip. Oh well, that's New York, and I'm in Colorado. We'll see what happens.

Yeah. That helps in several ways. First, it makes it easier for them to leak the info to the criminals, about where to find guns. Second, it makes it much easier to pick up the guns, when they outlaw them all together. Third, it makes it easy to hold up licenses to keep people from buying guns.

Oh, it's just a win, win, win.......for gun grabbers and criminals.

Yeah, Australia had full registration. Two years later their govment went around and gathered all the guns they didn't think people should have. A few years after that, they decided the people had too many guns, so their govment was all too happy to go and collect. Regstration opens the gates for confiscation and confiscation opens the door for revolution.

You and probably a few million other ex-New Yorkers. I've heard from a few people today about their moving plans. No I am not kidding.

I really am not looking forward to tomorrow. If they can pass a law like that in one state so easily, I'm worried at what they may try federally. This whole thing just makes me feel dread...

Gun registration is, in my opinion, only done for one reason - for the future confiscation of guns.

Most people I know will not willingly register a gun that is not already registered, and I am sure there are millions more with the same attitude. This law will only drive everything to an underground black market and then the criminals will have even more access to unregistered firearms.

The unintended consequence to an 'assault' weapons ban will likely be that the criminal element will smuggle full autos up from Mexico as the additional manufacturing cost of full autos is small. So if criminals want 'assault' type weapons which will likely cost many thousands on the black market the extra cost of full auto is insignificant. Also extreme shorty barrels, thus more concealable, will be easier to smuggle. Thereby putting more lethal weapons on the streets. Additionally the border patrol will now be faced with dealing with even more heavily armed smugglers as these weapons are being brought across the border. A win win for the criminals and for a government which seemed to crave crisis.

I seen a movie once, it was where the military and police where the only ones allowed to have firearms. The movie was Schlinders's list.

Benesse, do your think your wretched governor, Dear Andy Cuomo, will have his Mafia good buddies to go through his Marxist Socialist Nazi inspired licensing law and register their guns, before they go out on their hit missions?

Another (albeit somewhat corny) example of gun control in fiction is NBC's Revolution. Everything about the phrase "owning a firearm's a hanging offense, sir!" makes me angry. No matter what the penalty, we shouldn't be penalized for having power over life and death. John Locke would surly agree. Further gun control would be a return to Hobbesian government, and just generally bad.
