Nah - just post an intro over in the intro section if you want.

I have, I mean have you considered putting intro's at the top so people see it straight away. Mind you, saying that, if they can't find a section, they are unlikely to survive much!

Most people that join a forum and are inclined to post an intro first generally will look around a bit and find it. Haven't seen a forum yet that doesn't have one.
